จากปัญหาปริมาณขยะยางล้อที่ใช้แล้ว ทั้งในส่วนภาคอุตสาหกรรมและชุมชน ซึ่งมีปริมาณมากถึง 1-1.8 พันล้านเส้นต่อปีทั่วโลก มีแนวโน้มเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยมียางรถที่ใช้แล้วเพียงปริมาณร้อยละ 19 เท่านั้นที่จะถูกกำจัดอย่างถูกวิธี หากนำไปฝังกลบต้องใช้เวลามากกว่า 450 ปีในการย่อยสลาย จากปัญหาดังกล่าว บริษัท ไพโร เอนเนอร์ยี่ จำกัด เล็งเห็นโอกาสในการนำยางล้อที่ใช้แล้วมาผ่านกระบวนการ ไพโรไลซิส เพื่อแปลงสภาพเป็นพลังงานทางเลือก ซึ่งบริษัทฯดำเนินการธุรกิจเกี่ยวกับการนำยางล้อที่ใช้แล้วในประเทศไทยมาผ่านกระบวนการทางความร้อนเคมีหรือกระบวนการไพโรไลซิส เพื่อแปรรูปให้ผลิตภัณฑ์ น้ำมันไพโรไลซิส คาร์บอนแบล็ค และลวด เพื่อเป็นกลุ่มผลิตภัณฑ์ทดแทนผลิตภัณฑ์หลักที่ใช้แล้วหมดไป สำหรับคู่ค้าผลิตภัณฑ์ทางเลือกที่ใส่ใจเรื่องสิ่งแวดล้อม เศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน และผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ยั่งยืน
- Pyrolysis oil (PO) is a promising renewable energy source with many properties similar to petroleum fuel (fuel oil). An example of benifitial property of PO is that it has a heating value greater than 10,400 cal/g. The oil can be used for various purposes, such as fuel for boilers or burners, making it suitable for steel, cement, glass, ceramic, and paper industries, etc.
- Recovered Carbon Black (RCB) consists approximately 80-85% of carbon, and 15-20% of other substances; it is produced along with Pyrolysis oil in the process. With a heating value greater than 7,000 cal/g, it is often used as a fuel during combustion, mainly used in the cement industry instead of coal. In the future, the company plans to improve and develop recovered carbon black (rCB) as a fuel additive that can be reintroduced into industries.
- Wire Scrap is obtained from the wire in radial tires. It is a by-product of the process, which is often melted and reformed again.
